The updated MPV is expected to get a bolder front design, cabin technology upgrades, and a possible flex-fuel strong-hybrid powertrain
Toyota is preparing to update the Innova Hycross in India, with the facelift expected to launch on November 26, 2026. The MPV has been on sale since late 2022, and the upcoming update is expected to bring its first major styling refresh along with changes to the equipment list.
The Hycross has carved out a space for itself with its spacious cabin, monocoque construction and strong-hybrid option. The facelift is expected to build on that formula rather than introduce an entirely new generation. Toyota has yet to officially confirm the launch date, final specifications or prices.
The most noticeable changes are expected at the front. Test vehicles and design patent images point to a redesigned grille, a revised bumper and slimmer-looking LED headlamps. The grille is expected to take inspiration from the Toyota Hilux, giving the MPV a more upright and muscular appearance. The overall silhouette is likely to remain unchanged, including the long wheelbase and tall roofline that help create space for three rows. Revised alloy wheels are also expected, while the extent of changes to the rear design remains unclear.

The current Hycross gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen on higher variants, along with connected-car technology and wireless smartphone connectivity. The facelift could bring a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, accompanied by updates to the driver display and connected features. The existing dashboard layout is expected to remain broadly familiar. Toyota could also introduce fresh upholstery and additional equipment, although the final variant-wise feature list has not been revealed.
The current MPV is offered with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid powertrain. The petrol version produces 174 hp and 205 Nm, while the hybrid develops a combined 186 hp. The former uses a CVT, while the hybrid gets an e-CVT. Both powertrains are expected to continue. However, the more significant possibility is a flex-fuel strong-hybrid version capable of running on petrol-ethanol blends containing up to 85% ethanol, known as E85. Toyota has previously showcased an Innova Hycross-based flex-fuel hybrid prototype, but its introduction in the production facelift has not been officially confirmed.

The current Innova Hycross is priced from around Rs 19.5 lakh to Rs 32.95 lakh, ex-showroom, depending on the variant. The facelift could command a premium, with estimates placing the updated range at approximately Rs 20 lakh to Rs 34 lakh.
